Send files from a PC to a phone
You can move files from a computer to a phone without hunting for a cable, installing an app or creating an account. Peerxfer runs in the browser, so a browser on each device is all you need.
Steps
- On the computer, open Peerxfer and choose the file or folder.
- Click “Create share link”. A QR code, the link and the password appear.
- Scan the QR code with the phone’s camera; the link opens in the browser.
- Enter the password shown on the computer on the phone and connect.
- Choose where to save the file; the transfer starts. Keep the computer’s tab open.
Tips
- If the phone’s screen turns off during the transfer the connection can drop; Peerxfer tries to keep the screen awake, but it helps to keep the phone charging and the screen on.
- If both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, the transfer is usually very fast.
- For very large files and folders, desktop Chrome/Edge is a more reliable receiver.
- It works the other way too: pick a file on the phone and send it to the computer.
If you run into trouble, see the FAQ. The guide to sending large files may help too.
